Steil has represented Wisconsin’s 1st District since succeeding Paul Ryan in 2019 and has won multiple elections, including contests against Peter Barca in 2024, Ann Roe in 2022, Roger Polack in 2020, and Randy Bryce in 2018. In the most recent general election held in 2024, Steil secured victory over Peter Barca with a margin of approximately ten percentage points.
