When the pandemic hit a few years ago, it forced child care centers to close and jobs to disappear. It especially had a big impact on women's careers.
A BRAVA Magazine story says more than a million women left the workforce during that time - many believing they were better off taking care of their kids at home. But the job outlook continues to improve and experts say now is a good time for women to reenter the workforce.
Madison College advisor Sarita Field told BRAVA the challenge women have faced for a long time is self-selecting out of opportunities. "Not having every single qualification shouldn't stop you from applying for a job you're passionate about."
Field says women need to better showcase their skills in a more confident and truthful way.
