The City of Janesville Recreation Division and the Janesville Performing Arts Center (JPAC) are partnering to bring youth storytelling classes and free performances to community parks this summer.

The JPAC in the Park! Youth Storytelling Workshop will allow kids ages eight and older to learn how to tell stories with JPAC staff. The class will meet at JPAC (408 S. Main St.) from 12:30 to 2 p.m. on weekdays from June 19 to 22 and June 26 to 29. No acting experience is necessary, and beginners are welcome. The workshop costs $50 per student, with registration completed through JPAC. An online sign-up is available at janesvillepac.org.

The community is invited to join the workshop's kid performers for weekly JPAC in the Park! Storytelling for Kids shows at parks throughout Janesville. The free performances will take place on Mondays at 6 p.m., with the first show on July 10 at First Ward Park.
