Learning to swim is an essential life skill best taught at a young age. The City of Janesville Recreation Division offers summer swim lessons to help residents learn and improve their swimming abilities. All Recreation Division Swim Instructors are certified through the American Red Cross, and classes follow Red Cross standards. The City is an Authorized Swim Lesson Provider of the American Red Cross and USA Swimming Foundation.

Lessons will be held at Rockport Pool (2801 Rockport Rd.) and cost between $35 and $40 per session, depending on class level. Private lessons are also available at the cost of $20 per class. The City's website provides a complete listing of the 2023 Swim Lesson Schedule and class information.

The Recreation Division makes scholarships available for income-qualifying families. Residents can find details on this aid, including a printable application, by visiting bit.ly/41IAfHC.

For questions, contact the Recreation Division at (608) 755-3030.
