On Tuesday, June 13, the City of Janesville hosted four local high school students in the Tim Cullen Government Internship Program. This marks the 19th year of the internship program endowed by former State Senator Tim Cullen, allowing students to gain experience in local and state government.
During their day in Janesville, the Cullen Interns toured City Hall, the Police Department, Fire Department, Wastewater Treatment Plant, Janesville Transit System, and several City Parks. Students also met with City staff to discuss the role and functions of various departments. The students came well-prepared, engaging City officials with thoughtful questions and dialogue. The young scholars were recognized for participating in the program on Monday, June 12, at the City Council meeting.
The City is proud to offer this educational forum, and staff greatly value sharing insights with our community’s future leaders. The City wishes the Cullen Interns well as they continue in the program.
