At approximately 4 p.m. on September 19, a Janesville Fire Department (JFD) Ambulance was responding to an emergency call with lights and siren activated. During the response, the unit was involved in a traffic collision with a passenger vehicle at the intersection of East Milwaukee Street and North Ringold Street. Both vehicles sustained significant damage. The single occupant of the passenger vehicle and two Firefighter/Paramedics were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Both JFD personnel were treated and released.

"Our number one concern was for the well-being of the occupant in the passenger car and the two Firefighter/Paramedics," said JFD Fire Chief Jim Ponkauskas. "We are grateful that no one was seriously injured."

The incident is under investigation by the Janesville Police Department.
