Join the Janesville Senior Center on Wednesday, December 6, for a day trip to Munster, Indiana, for an afternoon with Chicago Tribune Food & Entertainment Columnist Phil Potempa.

Enjoy a relaxing and nostalgic two-hour stage visit of memories and storytelling, with a recipe or two whipped up with the audience's help! Munster’s Theatre at the Center stage will be transformed into a folksy and inviting recreation of the family farm – complete with a kitchen, dining room, and a cozy living room decorated for the holidays. Attendees will enjoy a holiday-themed menu with recipes from Phil’s fourth cookbook, including Jim Nabors’ Split Pea Soup, Phyllis Diller’s Honey Chicken Breast (boneless), Duchess Mashed Potatoes and Normandy Veggie Blend, Zuzu’s Gingersnaps and Peggy’s Pecan Crescents Christmas Cookies.

The trip will depart from the Janesville Ice Arena (821 Beloit Ave.) at 9 a.m. and return by 7:30 p.m. The day trip costs $110 for members and $120 for non-members.

Reservations and payments will be due by Thursday, November 2. This program is open to the public.

For more information and to register, contact the Janesville Senior Center at (608) 755-3040.
