The Janesville Fire Department (JFD) and Janesville Police Department (JPD) will hold a child safety seat inspection event on Thursday, November 9, at Fire Station #1 (303 Milton Ave.) from 2 to 6 p.m.

Several technicians from the JFD and JPD will be available to check child safety seats during the event. Each inspection takes approximately 30 minutes and is free of charge; however, the JFD and JPD will accept donations. These contributions help fund the operating costs of the inspection program. Parents are encouraged to make an inspection appointment to help limit program wait times. Residents can register for appointments conveniently on SignUpGenius. The JFD will also have safety seats available. Parents may conveniently obtain a new one on-site if an inspection finds a safety seat unsafe.

For an appointment or additional information, contact the JFD at (608) 921-3786.
