The Janesville Transit System (JTS) will be making some changes to its routes and bus stops as the Woodman’s Sports and Convention Center (WSCC) begins construction. Starting from February 20, 2024, several routes will be affected by these detours and relocations.

The affected routes include Route 1: Milton Avenue, Route 7: Nightside Milton, Route 23: Pontiac/Wuthering Hills Special, and Route 24: Northwest Special. Passengers who usually rely on these routes should take note of the changes.

One of the major changes is that JTS will no longer serve the mall parking lot. This means that bus stop #157 on the mall property will be closed during the construction period. However, a temporary bus stop will be set up on Refset Drive near Loanmax Title Loans. This new stop will allow individuals to conveniently access area businesses and Uptown Mall.

For those who prefer to use alternative stops, bus stop #158 on Holiday Drive by Dick’s Sporting Goods is another option. Passengers can utilize this stop to access area businesses or reach Uptown Mall.

In addition to the bus stop changes, there will also be an alternate transfer point for riders on the Milton Avenue Route. Instead of the regular transfer point, which will be affected by the construction, riders will now transfer at the intersection of Holiday Drive and Woodlane. Outbound Milton Avenue routes will stop on Woodlane Drive at Holiday Drive, while inbound routes will stop on Holiday Drive, 40 ft. east of the Woodlane/Holiday intersection.

For riders of Routes 23 (Pontiac/Wuthering Hills) and 24 (Northwest Special), there will be a change in the starting point of their trips. These routes will now begin at the southeast corner of the Milton Avenue and Refset Drive intersection. Additionally, passengers can also board or alight the 23: Pontiac/Wuthering Hills bus at the Holiday Drive bus stop #158 by Dick’s Sporting Goods.
