The City of Janesville has announced that a portion of Johnson Street will be closing to through traffic starting March 29 for utility improvements and restoration. According to the City, local access to driveways within the closure area will generally be maintained. Questions about the closure or the work can be directed to the City of Janesville Engineering Division at (608) 755-3169.

In addition to the street closure, the upcoming construction on Johnson Street will also impact the Janesville Transit System (JTS). JTS users should be prepared for detours, as the 6: BJE Inbound and 6: BJE Outbound routes will be affected. The detours will take buses through Linn St. from McKinley to Rockport. Temporary bus stops will be set up at specific intersections, including the NW Corner of W. Holmes/Linn St., SE Corner of W. Holmes/Linn St., and NW Corner of Rockport/Linn St.

For further information regarding the detours and any changes to JTS services, individuals are encouraged to reach out to JTS directly at (608) 755-3150.
