The City of Janesville Recreation Division has announced a special Fifth Grade Rec Nite scheduled for Friday, May 3, at Marshall Middle School. The event will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and is exclusively for fifth graders in the area, including those who are home-schooled or attend parochial schools.
According to the announcement, the program aims to introduce rising middle schoolers to the Rec Nites program, providing them with an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the rules while making new friends. The cost of participation is $7 per student, and concessions will be available for purchase during the event.
"We are excited to offer this event to our local fifth graders as a way to bridge the gap between elementary and middle school," said a representative from the City of Janesville Recreation Division.
The organizers are also seeking parents who are willing to volunteer as chaperones for the event. Parents who volunteer will have the chance to have their child attend the program for free.
Those interested in volunteering as chaperones or seeking more information about the event are encouraged to contact the Recreation Division at (608) 755-3030.
