Beginning Friday, June 14, a contractor will replace the water main and perform other utility improvements on S. Main Street. During the construction, S. Main Street from E. Racine Street to Tyler Street will be closed to through traffic. The road is expected to remain closed until mid-August. A signed detour will be provided utilizing West Delevan Drive, South Jackson Street, Rockport Road, South River Street, and Racine Street.

Local access to driveways within the closure will generally be maintained. Questions regarding the closure or the work can be directed to the City of Janesville Engineering Division at (608) 755-3169.

As a result of the closure, JTS Bus Route 3: Wright Rd. will be detoured from Friday, June 14, through mid-August. The route will detour from the intersection of E. Racine Street/S. Main Street to S. Parker Drive, Carrington Street, and S. Garfield Avenue, resuming its route at S. Garfield Avenue and Tyler Street.

The following bus stops will be closed:

- #355 S. Main/Wheeler

- #356 Tyler (Ice Arena/Rotary Gardens/Lions Beach)

A temporary stop will be placed just north of the southeast corner of S. Garfield Avenue/Tyler Street.
