City of Janesville announces Independence Day hours for facilities and services

Most City of Janesville facilities will be closed on Thursday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. This includes:

- City Hall

- Oak Hill Cemetery Office

- City Services Center

- Police Administration

- Fire Administration

- Sanitary & Demolition Landfills

- Ice Arena

- Senior Center

- JTS Administration

- Water & Wastewater Utility Offices

Palmer Park Wading Pool will be open from noon to 4 p.m., and Rockport Pool will be open from 12:30 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 4. Additionally, Lions Beach, the Riverside Park Splash Pad, and the Bubbler will have regular operating hours.

Other city activities affected include:

Trash & Recycling Collection—No collection will take place on Thursday, July 4. The regularly scheduled Thursday collection will occur on Friday, July 5. All remaining trash and recycling collections will be delayed by one day this week, with Friday collection completed on Saturday, July 6. Residents are reminded to have their trash and recycling carts at the curb by 7 a.m. on the collection day per the City Ordinance.

Janesville Transit System (JTS) services will not be provided on Thursday, July 4. Regular service will resume on Friday, July 5.
