City establishes volunteer center for tornado recovery efforts

On the evening of Saturday, June 22, a reported tornado touched down on the south side of the City of Janesville. This weather event caused considerable damage to structures and infrastructure in the area.

The City of Janesville will host a coordinated volunteer location for individuals looking to assist in storm cleanup. Volunteers may meet at the old Rock County Jobs Center at 1900 Center Avenue from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Residents in need of assistance may visit the facility to locate individuals willing to assist in property cleanup.
