FOIA Request to Town Of Sylvester Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
As part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at the Southern Wisconsin Times have sent a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., to the Town Of Sylvester. The request specifically seeks a list of new voters who registered to vote on November 5, 2024.
As a media organization dedicated to holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public, access to such records is essential for us in fulfilling our professional responsibilities. We believe that this information will contribute significantly towards our goal of disseminating accurate information about local government activities and processes.
We have requested these records preferably in an electronic format for ease of access and analysis. Given our role in gathering and reporting news to the public, we have also asked for a fee waiver as a media professional.
We await a response from the Town Of Sylvester and will continue with our mission of delivering timely and accurate news about local governmental affairs.
