FOIA Request to Town of Fulton Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
In a bid to ensure transparency and hold public institutions accountable, we at the Southern Wisconsin Times have sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Town of Fulton. The request was made under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., and seeks to obtain a list of new voters who registered on Election Day, November 5, 2024.
As an established media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we believe it is our responsibility to keep the public informed about matters that affect them directly. Access to such records is vital for us in fulfilling this role.
Given our position as a news outlet involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we have also requested a fee waiver for this information as per standard practices for media professionals.
We eagerly await a response from the Town of Fulton's office and remain committed to ensuring transparency in all aspects of government operation.
