The Janesville Fire Department (JFD) and Janesville Police Department (JPD) will host a Child Safety Seat Inspection event on Thursday, December 14, at Fire Station #1 (303 Milton Ave.) from 8 a.m. to noon.

This program aims to assist parents in protecting the lives of Janesville’s youngest residents by providing certified child safety seat technicians who will inspect, instruct, and correct improperly installed child safety seats. Several technicians from the JFD and JPD will be available to check child safety seats during the event. Each inspection takes approximately 30 minutes and is free of charge; however, the JFD and JPD will accept donations. These contributions help fund the operating costs of the inspection program.

Parents are encouraged to make an inspection appointment to help limit program wait times. The JFD will also have safety seats available. If an inspection finds a safety seat unsafe, parents may choose to conveniently obtain a new safety seat.

To schedule an appointment or for additional information, contact the JFD at (608) 921-3786 or visit https://bit.ly/3T6NDEv
