The City of Janesville has partnered with the Janesville Art League to showcase the works of its members in various public spaces. This collaboration kicked off with the installation of pieces by six local artists in City Hall. The artwork can now be found in the City Manager's Office on the fourth floor, where a seasonal rotating display has been set up. Each piece is accompanied by information about the work and its respective artist.
This collaboration is a part of the city's broader efforts to support the arts. Janesville, located in Wisconsin's Park Place, already boasts a Public Art Trail and the popular Art Infusion live arts event. The addition of the Janesville Art League's works further enriches the city's artistic landscape.
"We are proud to support our local artists by displaying their work," expressed City Manager Kevin Lahner. "I can't wait to see the incredible talent that Janesville has to offer."
The Janesville Art League, an active nonprofit organization established in 1894, welcomes anyone who wishes to support the arts and integrate art into their lives. The league maintains a rotating display of its members' artwork in several locations throughout the community. Those interested in learning more about the league or supporting the arts can visit their website at janesvilleartleague.org.
