City of Janesville Announces Fire Chief Candidates

The City of Janesville is in the process of selecting a new Fire Chief, with six candidates moving forward in the recruitment process. According to the article, the candidates invited to proceed include Jason Griffin, Matthew Haerter, John Kolarik, John McManus III, Ryan Murphy, and Scott Sarver.

Jason Griffin, who currently holds positions in Beloit and South Beloit, brings 30 years of experience in the fire service to the table. Matthew Haerter, the Assistant Fire Chief for Lake County Fire & Rescue, has a background that includes key roles in fire departments in Wisconsin. John Kolarik, a former Deputy Fire Chief, served in various capacities before his current candidacy. John McManus III, who has been with the Janesville Fire Department for over two decades, has held significant leadership positions within the department. Ryan Murphy, the Battalion Chief in Janesville, has also had a long-standing career within the city's fire department. Scott Sarver, currently a District Chief, has a wealth of experience dating back to 1996.

The selection process will continue with an assessment center, interviews, and a community tour scheduled for March 28 and 29. Additionally, there will be a meet-and-greet event on March 28 at City Hall Council Chambers, where the public is encouraged to interact with the candidates.

This announcement marks an important step in the City of Janesville's search for a new Fire Chief, with a diverse group of candidates poised to potentially lead the city's fire department.
