Contractors will soon commence essential infrastructure work on Elliott Street and Jerome Avenue in Janesville. The project, scheduled to begin on Friday, April 19, will involve a series of upgrades including utility improvements, curb and gutter replacements, and pavement reconstruction.
As a result of the reconstruction efforts, Elliott Street from S. Jackson Street to Beloit Avenue, as well as Jerome Avenue from Elliott Street to W. State Street, will be closed to through traffic. The closure is expected to last until late August, impacting the daily commute of residents and businesses in the area.
Despite the road closures, local access to driveways within the affected area is anticipated to be maintained throughout the duration of the project. Concerned individuals or those seeking additional information regarding the closure or the ongoing work are encouraged to contact the City of Janesville Engineering Division at (608) 755-3169.
The temporary closure of Elliott Street and Jerome Avenue underscores the city's commitment to infrastructure improvement and maintenance, ensuring the safety and efficiency of transportation routes for all residents and visitors.
