The City of Janesville Recreation Division invites the community to Optimist Park (4201 Ruger Ave.) for another edition of Movies in the Park. On Friday, August 16, the free program will screen the movie Wonka at dusk, approximately 8:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own blankets or lawn chairs. Pre-movie barrel rides will be available in the park starting at 7 p.m., and concessions will be available for purchase.

All movies shown are rated PG or lower. In case of inclement weather, movies will not be rescheduled. According to City Ordinance, no liquor, beer, smoking, or vaping is allowed in City parks. The ordinance also prohibits pets in any public park from May 15 to September 15.

The City of Janesville extends its gratitude to local Optimist Clubs for co-sponsoring this program.
