The 2024 Partisan Primary is approaching, with the City of Janesville set to open six polling locations on August 13, 2024. Due to updated maps from the Wisconsin Legislature, an updated ward plan and polling place plan were required. Residents can visit myvote.wi.gov or the City’s website to locate their polling place.
Polling places will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on election day.
For those unable to vote in person on election day, early in-person absentee voting is available at Janesville City Hall's Clerk’s office starting Tuesday, July 30, and continuing through August 9 (weekdays). Voting hours at City Hall are from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with extended hours until 5 p.m. on Friday, August 9.
The August 13 ballot includes party primaries for several offices:
- United States Senator
- Representative in Congress
- Representative to the State Assembly
- District Attorney
- County Clerk
- County Treasurer
- Register of Deeds
Additionally, there will be two questions regarding amendments to the Wisconsin Constitution.
The top vote-getter in each political party from this primary will appear on the November 5 Partisan General Election ballot.
