A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Town of York in Wisconsin on November 7, 2024. The request was made by us at Southern Wisconsin Times, a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.
We requested a list of new voters who registered to vote on November 5, 2024. This information is essential for our ongoing coverage of the election process and voter participation in the region. As a media organization, we rely heavily on public records to ensure that our reporting is accurate and comprehensive.
Access to these records allows us to hold public institutions accountable and provide transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we have also requested a fee waiver as part of this FOIA request.
