Bryan Steil, a U.S. Congressman who has represented Wisconsin’s 1st district since 2019, posted a series of messages on his social media accounts between September 18 and September 19, 2025. The posts addressed topics ranging from national celebrations to legislative priorities and public safety.
On September 18, Steil recognized the anniversary of the United States Air Force by posting, "Happy 78th birthday @usairforce!".
Later that day, he emphasized the importance of security for all Americans, stating in a separate post on September 18: "Whether at home or in Washington, everyone deserves to feel safe".
The following morning, Steil highlighted ongoing legislative efforts to prevent a government shutdown and promote specific policy goals. On September 19 he wrote: "Averting a shutdown puts us in a stronger position to deliver on priorities like the CLARITY Act".
Steil has maintained his seat through several election cycles. In the most recent general election in 2024, he defeated Peter Barca with 54% of the vote. Previous victories include defeating Ann Roe in 2022 with just over half of the votes cast and winning against Roger Polack in 2020 with nearly sixty percent support. His initial election win came in 2018 against Randy Bryce.
