Bryan Steil, U.S. Congressman for Wisconsin's 1st district, posted a series of messages on his social media account on September 10 and 11, 2025, addressing the passing of Charlie Kirk and commemorating the anniversary of the September 11 attacks.
On September 10, Steil wrote, "Praying for Charlie Kirk". The following day, he expanded on his sentiments regarding Kirk's impact: "Charlie Kirk was an inspiration to many Americans. I pray for his Wife, Erika, and their two children."
Also on September 11, Steil marked the anniversary of the terrorist attacks with a tribute: "We honor the lives lost in New York, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania, and the heroism of our first responders. We will never forget."
Steil has represented Wisconsin's 1st congressional district since winning election in 2018 against Randy Bryce. He subsequently secured re-election victories over Roger Polack in 2020 (59.3% to 40.6%), Ann Roe in 2022 (54.1% to 45.1%), and Peter Barca in 2024 (54% to 43.8%).
