Sharon Cox, Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President at Beloit Health System, has been named the 2025 Nurse Executive of the Year by the Wisconsin Organization of Nurse Leaders (WONL). The award recognizes nurse executives in Wisconsin who show leadership, promote the nursing profession, and help advance health care in the state.

The selection criteria for this honor include creativity in nursing leadership, a commitment to professional development, collaboration with colleagues from various disciplines, and active participation in both community and health care organizations.

Tim McKevett, President and CEO of Beloit Health System, said, “We are incredibly proud of Sharon for receiving this recognition. She exemplifies the values of BHS through her dedication to patients, leadership in advancing nursing, and commitment to our community.”

Cox has served as an active member of WONL since 2011 and has held the position of Treasurer since 2015. WONL is affiliated with the American Organization of Nurse Leaders and supports nurse leaders throughout Wisconsin. Each year, it gives awards in three categories: Rising Star, Nurse Leader, and Nurse Executive.
