City of Janesville recently issued the following announcement.
The City of Janesville has decided to pause the proposed parking changes on West Milwaukee Street. The City will meet with Downtown Janesville, Inc. and the Downtown Business Improvement District to further discuss the proposed changes.
Since the completion of the West Milwaukee Street Reconstruction Project, staff at the City of Janesville has received concerns from the public regarding sight distances at the intersections along the corridor.
Based on a detailed engineering review, the City has determined it should replace the current angled parking with parallel parking to improve the corridor's sight distances. This change will improve the intersection site distance from all side streets on W. Milwaukee Street.
Weather permitting, the City will complete work on this change the week of December 6.
