Congressman Bryan Steil expressed his disappointment over the Air National Guard's decision not to station a KC-46 tanker at Milwaukee's 128th Air Refueling Wing (ARW). In a statement released today, Steil commented on the news.
"I am disappointed to learn this morning that Wisconsin’s 128th Air Refueling Wing was not selected to move forward in the U.S. Air National Guard's process for selecting the new location for a KC-46 refueling tanker," said Steil. "I will continue to work to ensure Wisconsin is well positioned for future rounds of selection."
Last month, Congressman Steil led Wisconsin’s congressional delegation in urging former Air National Guard Director Michael Loh and Interim Director Duke Pirak to consider the 128th ARW when selecting the next home for a KC-46 refueling tanker. Representatives Steil and Moore also met with Interim Director Pirak last week to discuss steps to bring the new aircraft to Milwaukee.
