Most City of Janesville facilities will close at noon on Friday, January 12, due to inclement weather. This includes City Hall, Police administrative offices, Fire administrative offices, JTS administrative offices, Public Works administrative offices, the Janesville Ice Arena, and the Janesville Senior Center. Public safety, snow and ice control, and other essential City services will continue.
"The safety of our residents and employees is our top priority," said City spokesperson, [Name]. "Closing these facilities will help ensure that everyone stays safe during this severe weather event."
Residents are encouraged to stay updated on the City's response to the winter weather emergency by visiting the City's website, where additional information is available.
In addition, the Hedberg Public Library (HPL) will close to patrons at 12:30 p.m. However, the HPL's Ground Floor Coffee Shop will remain open until 5 p.m. to serve as a warming shelter. This will provide a safe and warm space for individuals who may need it during the inclement weather.
"We understand the importance of providing a refuge for individuals in our community," said [Name], Director of the Hedberg Public Library. "By keeping the coffee shop open, we can ensure that people have a place to go to escape the cold weather."
All facilities affected by the closure will resume normal business hours on Monday, January 15.
In the event of an emergency, residents are advised to dial 911 for immediate assistance.
Stay safe and warm during this winter weather episode.
