Janesville Recreation Division and Clean Sweep Farm have announced the exciting opportunity for children between the ages of five to seventeen to participate in Winter Horse Camps during March and April 2024.
The camps will cover a range of activities and topics essential for horse enthusiasts. According to the Janesville Recreation Division and Clean Sweep Farm, participants can look forward to learning about horse safety, horse breeds, proper horse and equipment care, sportsmanship, showmanship, as well as engaging in crafts and games.
To ensure the safety of all participants, it is mandatory for individuals to wear appropriate footwear, such as shoes or boots with no tread and a small heel, along with helmets for horse riding. For those without helmets, they will be provided at the farm during the camps.
The Winter Horse Camps are scheduled on the following dates and times:
- March 18 – 21, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., $400
- March 25 – 28, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., $400
- April 5, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., $100
- April 19, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., $100
- April 26, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., $100
All camps will take place at Clean Sweep Farm located at 8538 N. Serns Rd. Interested parents and guardians can pre-register their children either on the City's website or at the Recreation Division office in City Hall.
