City of Janesville Announces Finalists for Position of Fire Chief

The City of Janesville has taken a significant step in the recruitment process for the position of Fire Chief by announcing three finalists for the role. The Police and Fire Commission of Janesville revealed the finalists on Friday, March 29, with the candidates being John Kolarik, Ryan Murphy, and Scott Sarver.

John Kolarik, who most recently served as the Deputy Fire Chief for the Glenside Fire Protection District, expressed his satisfaction with the selection process, stating, "It has been a pleasure working with the Police and Fire Commission as they work to select Janesville's next Fire Chief," as mentioned by City Manager Kevin Lahner.

Ryan Murphy, the Battalion Chief for the City of Janesville Fire Department, and Scott Sarver, the District Chief for the South Metro Rescue Authority, were also named as finalists for the position. Ryan Murphy has served in various capacities within the City of Janesville Fire Department since 1999, while Scott Sarver has an extensive service background dating back to 1996.

The City Manager, Kevin Lahner, expressed his confidence in the recruitment process, stating, "I have been incredibly impressed with the caliber of the recruitment process and look forward to interviews with the finalists." The commission is scheduled to meet with the finalists on Monday, April 15, to make the final decision.
