A new springtime adventure awaits visitors at the Robert O. Cook Memorial Arboretum in Janesville as the captivating StoryWalk program unfolds. This collaborative initiative, involving the Parks and Recreation Divisions, the Hedberg Public Library, and the School District of Janesville, brings a book to life page-by-page along a scenic half-mile loop on the Jolyn Beeman Trail.
The featured spring title, "Something, Someday," is a poignant tale that resonates with the challenges faced in communities. According to the announcement, the book's author is Amanda Gorman, a renowned American poet and activist, notably recognized as President Biden's Presidential Inaugural Poet.
Highlighting the significance of the StoryWalk, the organizers emphasized that it goes beyond just being a walk in the park. It serves as a platform that promotes early literacy, physical activity, and quality family time in nature. This enriching experience has been made possible through a generous grant from American Family Insurance.
Visitors are encouraged to explore the springtime book along the trail from now until June 20. For any inquiries, individuals can reach out to the Recreation Division at (608) 755-3030.
