Child Safety Seat Event Planned for April 11

The Janesville Fire Department (JFD) and Janesville Police Department (JPD) are teaming up to ensure the safety of children in Janesville. In their efforts to protect the city's youngest residents, they have organized a Child Safety Seat Clinic scheduled for Thursday, April 11.

According to a statement released by the organizers, the event will feature certified child safety seat technicians who will be available to inspect and provide guidance on the correct use of safety seats. One of the key aspects of the program is to educate parents and guardians on the proper installation and utilization of child safety seats.

The upcoming clinic, set to take place at Fire Station #1 located at 303 Milton Ave., will run from 8 a.m. to noon. Parents and guardians are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to have their child safety seats checked by professionals. The inspections, which are estimated to last around 30 minutes, will be offered free of charge, although donations to support the program's operational expenses are welcome.

To streamline the process and minimize waiting times, it is recommended that interested individuals schedule an appointment for the inspection. Those looking to book an inspection slot or seeking additional information can reach out to the JFD at (608) 921-3786.

The collaborative efforts of the JFD and JPD underscore their commitment to promoting child safety within the community. By providing resources and expertise through initiatives like the Child Safety Seat program, they aim to equip parents and guardians with the knowledge and tools necessary to safeguard their children while traveling in vehicles.
