The City of Janesville, in collaboration with Janesville Early Literacy, has introduced a new Early Learning Playground Challenge for 2024. This initiative targets families with children from birth to five years old and offers an engaging way to explore local parks while promoting early literacy.

Families are encouraged to visit five out of the ten designated parks: Palmer Park, Peace Park, Bond Park, Burbank Park, Waveland Park, Riverside Park, Fourth Ward Park, Hawthorne Park, Traxler Park, and Prairie Park. At each park, participants will find an 'Early Learning Playground Challenge' sign that provides instructions for completing an activity.

The first 100 families to complete the challenge by August 16 will receive a free giveaway. Upon completion of the activities at the specified parks, participants should email recreationmail@ci.janesville.wi.us or message the Janesville Parks and Recreation Facebook page for further instructions.

For additional details about the challenge and related activities, families can visit Janesville Early Literacy’s website.
