WASHINGTON (June 27, 2024) - Congressman Bryan Steil (WI-01), Chairman of the Committee on House Administration, led the rededication of the Global War on Terror "Wall of the Fallen" Memorial inside the U.S. Capitol yesterday.

The memorial honors the men and women who gave their lives during operations collectively known as the Global War on Terror. The refreshed memorial displays the names of 7,054 fallen U.S. servicemembers, including 129 from Wisconsin and 12 individuals from Racine, Kenosha, and Rock County. The memorial will serve as a permanent reminder of their sacrifice and act as a place of solace for all Capitol visitors.

"Our brave men and women deserve to be honored and remembered for their great sacrifice - this memorial will ensure that is the case," said Steil. "The memorial honors Wisconsin servicemembers alongside all the Americans who gave their lives for freedom."

Steil has led the committee in working collaboratively with the Department of Defense to receive a list of American servicemembers, their branches of service, and rankings to honor their sacrifice in service to the U.S.
