The City of Janesville Recreation Division is set to host the Janesville Kids Triathlon on Saturday, August 24. The event, designed for children aged seven to twelve, aims to introduce young participants to multisport racing. The triathlon will feature a 40-meter swim, a two-and-a-half-mile bike ride, and a half-mile run.
The racecourse will be situated in Rockport Park (2801 Rockport Rd.), incorporating the Rockport Pool and Peace Park Trail. Although awards will be given to the fastest participants in each age group, the Recreation Division emphasizes that this event is not structured as a highly competitive race.
Online registration for the triathlon is now open on the event's website and will close on August 23. On-site registration will not be available. Participants who register before August 14 will receive a complimentary t-shirt.
Race packets can be picked up on Friday, August 23, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Peace Park Pavilion (2801 Rockport Rd.). On race day, check-in will occur from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., with the race commencing at 9 a.m.
