FOIA Request to City of Brodhead Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
In our continuous effort to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Southern Wisconsin Times have sent a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., to the City of Brodhead. We have asked for a list of new voters who registered to vote on November 5, 2024.
As a media organization committed to holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public, access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. Therefore, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.
We await the City of Brodhead's response and will continue our work in disseminating information vital for maintaining an informed citizenry.
