City of Janesville Thanksgiving Holiday Service Interruptions

City of Janesville issued the following announcement on Nov. 11

In observance of Thanksgiving, most City facilities, including City Hall, will be closed Thursday, November 25 and Friday, November 26.

Hedberg Public Library, Sanitary Landfill, Demolition Landfill and the Compost Site will be closed Thursday, November 25, with regular hours resuming Friday, November 26.

Holiday Trash & Recycling Collection

Curbside trash and recycling collection will not take place on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 25. Collection of trash and recyclables for all residents will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the holiday week. Please remember collection carts must be placed for collection no later than 7 a.m. on the day of collection. The collection schedule is as follows:

The regular collection schedule will resume on Monday, November 29.

Curbside Bagged Yard Waste Collection

Curbside collection of bagged yard waste will take place the week of November 29. Bagged yard waste and bundled brush should be placed at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on the customer’s regular collection day. JTS Holiday Hours

Janesville Transit System (JTS) will not operate on Thanksgiving Day, November 25. Regular service, including the Beloit-Janesville Express, will resume at 6:15 a.m. on Friday, November 26. With the Janesville Public Schools closed, extra service routes will not operate November 24–November 26, and will resume on Monday, November 29.
