City Thanks Officer Nathan Blank for 25 Years of Service

25

City of Janesville issued the following announcement on Dec. 22

On Monday, December 20, 2021, Officer Nathan Blank officially retired from the Janesville Police Department (JPD) after over 25 years of service to the City of Janesville.

Officer Blank has served the community as a member of the JPD since his hire in February 1996. Originally from the Green Bay area, he attended Northeast Wisconsin Technical College before receiving his Law Enforcement Recruit Academy Certification at Blackhawk Technical College.

Officer Blank credits a good friend for bringing him to a career in law enforcement. Throughout his employment at the JPD, he has held a variety of assignments, including first, second, and third shift patrol officer. He oversaw the department's abandoned vehicle program and was a leader in the Police Chaplain program. Officer Blank also helped serve as a certified child safety seat technician and mentored new officers in the department's police reporting system.

The JPD has noted Officer Blank's exemplary professional service and his demonstrated devotion to his duties, which he performed with skill, ability, sincerity, honesty, and dedication. One such example of this service came in 2013 when the JPD recognized his lifesaving efforts in providing CPR to a victim of an automobile accident.

In retirement, Officer Blank plans to spend more time with his family, including his wife, Kristina, and their three daughters, McKenzie, Natalie, and Allison. The pair plans to soon relocate to Virginia to be closer to their daughters' college. Once there, Officer Blank looks forward to enjoying the new scenery and starting a few home remodel projects.

When asked what he would miss most about his job, Officer Blank said his coworkers. He considers himself fortunate to have had the ability to work with his fellow officers at the JPD and wishes them the best. He will also miss being a part of the community connections made by the department.

The City of Janesville would like to thank Officer Nathan Blank for his more than 25 years of dedicated service to his community, the Janesville Police Department, and the City of Janesville.
