Beloit College issued the following announcement on Jan.24.
We draw on a track record of success in keeping our community safe as we welcome students to campus for Spring Semester 2022. With vaccines and boosters widely available, we offer an in-person student experience: residential living, campus activities, amenities, and services.
At the same time, the changing conditions due to COVID-19 and its variants require that we continue to review and adjust our policies to keep our community healthy and well.
As we have done from the beginning of the pandemic, we are closely monitoring regional, national, and international developments, including vaccination rollouts and CDC recommendations for in-person activities. As always, our focus is on safety, agility, and creativity. We will continue to take any precautions that remain necessary, and adapt quickly to changing conditions.
Proof of negative test is required to return to campus in January
New students should submit their vaccine documentation to the Health and Wellness Center at healthcenter@beloit.edu. Students will not be permitted to move into on-campus housing without submitting their vaccine documentation.
Additionally, all students, faculty, and staff will be required to provide documentation of a negative COVID-19 test when they return to campus following winter break, regardless of vaccination status. All manners of testing will be accepted including: PCR, rapid antigen and take home tests kits.

Vaccinations continue to be required, including a booster dose
The College requires vaccines for all employees and students. In addition to the regular vaccine series, all students, faculty, and staff are required to receive a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine by Friday, January 28.
Individuals who have been unable to receive the COVID-19 vaccine and/or booster as a result of medical, religious, or philosophical reasons will be required to undergo weekly testing in order to remain on campus.
If you are unable to be fully vaccinated, please contact the Health and Wellness Center (students) or Human Resources (staff and faculty) for more information.

Face masks and physical distancing
In conjunction with the most recent CDC guidance on face coverings, all students, current and emeriti faculty, staff, and guests (regardless of vaccination status) are required to wear face masks indoors with the exception of their personal space (i.e. dorm room or office). Masks are not required outdoors.
Physical distancing is encouraged as it continues to be a highly effective way to avoid illness.
Academics
Classes are meeting in-person, although instructors may incorporate a variety of pedagogical tools as part of their in-person courses and instructors will be available for in-person interactions outside of class time. Since classes will be meeting in-person, students will not be studying remotely.
Arrangements will be made for students who are not able to attend class because of a brief illness or quarantine, as has always been our policy.
Self-care is community care
During the 2020-21 academic year, we worked together to enjoy a safe and sensible campus experience. The New York Times took notice, identifying us as a “bright spot” in their coverage of colleges and COVID.
Our students have adhered to their Statement of Culture and Behavioral Expectations that mandated masks, physical distancing, and small group gatherings to keep COVID cases low and allow them to remain on campus. Students were widely praised in national media outlets for their mature, proactive approach to the pandemic.
