WASHINGTON, DC – On May 18, Congressman Bryan Steil (WI-01) released a statement after voting to pass H.R. 3091, the Federal Law Enforcement Officer Service Weapon Purchase Act, H.R. 2494, the POLICE Act, and H. Con Res. 40, a resolution expressing support for local law enforcement officers and condemning efforts to defund or dismantle local law enforcement agencies.
“The men and women in law enforcement need our support. Our law enforcement officials put their lives on the line each day to protect our communities. We must support and fund law enforcement across the country to better help them protect our communities and keep us all safe. I am thankful for the courage and dedication of our nation’s law enforcement.”
