The City of Janesville Recreation Division, in partnership with Hedberg Public Library and the School District of Janesville, has unveiled a new Summer StoryWalk® at the Robert O. Cook Memorial Arboretum (3550 W. County Hwy. A).
The new summertime story is A Park Connects Us by Sarah Nelson. This picture book excursion through a city park invites readers to discover how shared green spaces bring us together. The lyrical, upbeat text illuminates the abundant gifts the park offers. Vibrant mixed-media illustrations show a diverse group of visitors as they explore this communal space. The tale is presented page-by-page on signposts over an approximately half-mile loop along the Jolyn Beeman Trail and will remain up through September 22.
The StoryWalk® program promotes early literacy, physical activity, and family time in nature. This initiative has been made possible through a generous grant from American Family Insurance.
