The City of Janesville is pleased to announce the promotion of Nick Faust to the position of Assistant to the City Manager, effective the week of June 26, 2023.

In this role, Faust will lead the Manager's Initiatives Group, guiding the City's strategic planning and decision-making efforts and helping the development of the annual budget and capital improvement plan. He is tasked with identifying opportunities for process improvement, change management, and managing organization-wide and cross-departmental projects. Faust will oversee performance measurement efforts and supervise strategic communications. 

"I am very excited to promote Nick to the position of Assistant to the City Manager," said City Manager Kevin Lahner. "His fresh ideas, enthusiasm, and collaborative skills make him the perfect fit for the job."

The City first hired Faust in January 2021 as Communications Specialist. He managed the City's strategic communications and community information in that position. His responsibilities included overseeing the City's website, media outreach, social media, and citizen engagement efforts. Faust was named the 2022 Administrative City Employee of the Year earlier this year.  

Before coming to Janesville, he served as an Administrative Intern for the City of Burlington, Wisconsin, while earning his Master's in Public Administration from Northern Illinois University. He also holds a Bachelor's in Public Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.
