WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Bryan Steil (WI-01) announced he will be hosting a free scam prevention event for residents in Wisconsin’s First Congressional District in South Milwaukee.
“Identity theft is on the rise. It is vital to protect your information online. I look forward to sharing resources available to you and your family to prevent being scammed,” said Steil.
The Free Scam Prevention Event will run from 11:00am – 12:30pm on Tuesday August 1, 2023, at the City of South Milwaukee Common Council Chambers. Event panelists will include officials from the Federal Trade Commission, Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection, Wisconsin Better Business Bureau, AARP, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, and the IRS Criminal Investigation Bureau.
