The City of Janesville Clerk-Treasurer's Office has received reports of a potential scam involving individuals calling residents impersonating an organization assisting voter registration. Scammers then request you provide them with personally identifiable information over the phone.

The City reminds residents that the Clerk-Treasurer's Office will never call voters seeking personal data. Residents should always be cautious about providing personal information over the phone. Supplying this data could put you at high risk for identity theft and related crimes.

If you have questions or concerns about your voter information, contact the Clerk-Treasurer's Office at (608) 755-3070.

If you believe you have been the target of a scam, contact the Janesville Police Department's non-emergency line at (608) 757-2244.
