The City of Janesville Recreation Division is excited to announce the return of the Enchanted Forest and Hollywood Hayride. This annual community event allows families with young children to enjoy Halloween fun by showcasing non-scary skits from famous fairytales, nursery rhymes,  popular movies, and TV shows! This year, the festivities will take place in Palmer Park on:

• Wednesday, October 11, from 5 to 8:30 p.m.
• Thursday, October 12, from 5 to 8:30 p.m.
• Friday, October 13, from 5 to 9 p.m.
• Saturday, October 14, from 5 to 9 p.m.

Volunteers of all ages are needed to help as actors/actresses, narrators, acting extras, and Goblin Game attendants. Community members can complete a Volunteer Interest Form on the City's website, checking the Recreation Division Special Events and Programs box to indicate interest.

The Recreation Division is also seeking assistance to grow the event through Monetary and Scene Adoption sponsorships. Businesses and organizations can participate as sponsors at various levels, with a range of benefits offered for support. Depending on the sponsorship level, benefits include: 

• Eighth-page size company ad or a credit of the value toward a larger size ad in our 2024 spring/summer brochure mailed directly to over 35,000 households. 
• A sign with the sponsor's name at the entrance of the Enchanted Forest. 
• A sign with the sponsor's name in front of a scene of your choice. 
• Company name inclusion in all press releases. 
• Youth public skate passes to the Janesville Ice Arena, and Family passes to the Enchanted Forest and Hollywood Hayride. 
• Logo on Janesville Parks and Recreation’s Facebook event post (8,700 page followers and growing). 
• Recognition on Janesville Parks and Recreation’s Facebook posts (8,700 page followers and growing).

If your business or organization is looking for a service activity or a low-cost way to market yourself, scene adoption is the way to go. Scene adopters pick the nights they provide the actors, and the trinkets, as well as whether they want to create the scene skit. In return businesses and organizations can brand the scene in their own creative way.

The division will also accept "in-kind" donations of candy, costumes, Halloween decorations or scene props, tea light candles, or gift cards for the set sponsorship fee. For more details, view the Enchanted Forest and Hollywood Hayride Sponsorship Packet.
