The HPL Foundation is gearing up to host the Hedberg Public Library's annual fall fundraiser, A Night at the Library, with the aim of raising funds for essential community programs and services.

Aron Busan, a board member of the HPL Foundation, expressed the organization's enthusiasm, stating, “The HPL Foundation is honored to host A Night at the Library fundraiser." He highlighted the event as an opportunity for attendees to enjoy the library in a unique social setting, emphasizing the importance of supporting critical community initiatives.

Scheduled for Saturday, October 19 from 7-10 p.m., this year's mingle murder mystery event marks the 15th anniversary of the fundraiser. Guests are encouraged to dress up, savor food and drinks in the library stacks, and engage in amateur sleuthing to unravel the mystery by the end of the evening. Tickets for the event will go on sale starting September 1.

To ensure the success of A Night at the Library, the planning committee is actively seeking volunteers aged 18 and above to contribute to various roles during the event. Positions include actors to portray suspects and witnesses, dancers, ticket takers, and bartenders. Volunteers must be available on Friday and Saturday, October 18 and 19, with additional practice sessions required for actors and dancers.

An informational meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 2 at 5:30 p.m. at the Hedberg Public Library for individuals interested in volunteering. Those willing to participate can contact (608) 758-6600, email Jamie Swenson at jswenson@hedbergpubliclibrary.org, or complete the volunteer form on the library's website.
