The City of Janesville has introduced the Development Assistance Group (DAG) to streamline the development review process. According to City Manager Kevin Lahner, the DAG aims to provide direct and clear feedback to project developers early on. Lahner stated, “This is an opportunity to enhance our service to the development community by assembling all the professionals who review plans early in the process and providing direct, consistent and clear feedback to those considering projects in Janesville.”

The DAG will hold weekly meetings on Wednesdays at 2 p.m. offering a 30-minute review session for project developers, architects, and designers. Interested parties can request a meeting with the DAG by emailing Senior Planner Brian Schweigl at schweiglb@janesvillewi.gov and Planning Director Duane Cherek at cherekd@janesvillewi.gov. To secure a meeting slot, applicants must submit their site plan and a brief project narrative outlining the intended land use by noon the Wednesday before the requested meeting date.

For further inquiries or to learn more about the Development Assistance Group, individuals can contact the City’s Planning Division at (608) 755-3085 or visit the Planning Division’s webpage on the City of Janesville’s website.
