Bryan Steil, U.S. Congressman representing Wisconsin’s 1st district since 2019, announced the passage of two legislative measures in the House on July 17, 2025, via his official Twitter account.
On July 17, Steil posted: "CLARITY has passed the House! Another big win for digital assets. https://t.co/CXUheQDal5 https://t.co/9l7OSwxLOW". Later that day, he shared another update: "GENIUS Act has passed by a vote of 308-122! Next step: @POTUS’s signature https://t.co/UbEhx200IF".
In a subsequent tweet on July 17, Steil acknowledged support from a fellow lawmaker: "Spot on Rep. Flood, thank you for your support! https://t.co/qEp9WdJFPm".
Steil, who was born in Janesville, Wisconsin in 1981 and continues to reside there, succeeded Paul Ryan as representative for Wisconsin’s 1st district in 2019. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and a law degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
