Steil has represented Wisconsin’s 1st congressional district since first winning election in 2018. He defeated Randy Bryce in that year’s general election with 54.6% of the vote. In subsequent elections, Steil secured victories over Roger Polack in 2020 (59.3%), Ann Roe in 2022 (54.1%), and Peter Barca in 2024 (54%) according to official results.
